  • Adolescents and Young Adults (AYA)

    The Allyson Whitney Foundation primarily provides young adult cancer patients with ‘Life Interrupted Grants’ to ease their financial burden to concentrate their energy on healing. We want to empower an underserved demographic of Adolescents and Young Adults (our AYA age range 16-36) and shine a spotlight on the term ‘rare’ cancers.  

    Cuck Fancer will contribute anything necessary to help young adults impacted by cancer get their lives back on track.

    The Dear Jack Foundation provides impactful programs benefiting adolescents and young adults (AYA) diagnosed with cancer and their families to improve their quality of life from treatment to survivorship.

    Through programs and strategic partnerships, Dear Jack addresses the physical and emotional needs of AYA cancer patients, survivors and their families. One-on-one patient support and wellness programs allow the Dear Jack Foundation to empower patients, survivors and their caregivers in their healing and to provide assurance that they are not alone in their cancer journey.

    First Descents provides life-changing, outdoor adventures for young adults impacted by cancer and other serious health conditions.

    Expect Miracles Foundation (EMF) rallies the financial services industry and beyond to invest in life-saving cancer research while advancing the financial and emotional health of people impacted by cancer.

    Expect Miracles Foundation’s SAMFund (Surviving and Moving Forward) provides critical financial resources to young adult cancer survivors twice a year through grants in two categories: Financial Assistance Grants and Family Building Grants.

    Advocacy and Legal Support

    To achieve our vision of equitable access to justice for all, Bet Tzedek provides person-centered legal services that integrate with social support services, educate community members with the powerful knowledge of their legal rights, and uses our collective voice to reform systems.

    Cancer and Careers empowers and educates people with cancer to thrive in their workplace, by providing expert advice, interactive tools and educational events.

    Cancer Legal Resource Center (CLRC) is a program of the Disability Rights Legal Center (DRLC), a 501C-3 non-profit, public interest advocacy organization that champions the civil rights of people with disabilities as well as those affected by cancer and other serious illness. DRLC’s Cancer Legal Resource Center provides information through its national telephone assistance line, outreach programs and community activities to educate and to support cancer patients, their families, healthcare professionals and advocates on matters like maintaining employment through treatment, accessing healthcare and government benefits, taking medical leave and estate planning. For a person with a cancer diagnosis, these issues often result in worry and confusion, which can be overwhelming. When left unaddressed, patients may survive treatment to find their homes, jobs or insurance coverage gone. When information is readily and easily accessible, quality outcomes for patient survivorship improve as stress and anxiety decrease.

    Fuck Cancer is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to advancing health equity through early detection and prevention programs, and by providing resources to navigate, manage, and cope with cancer. With wit, edge, and humor, we’re changing the way people think and talk about cancer and encouraging them to be active rather than passive when it comes to their cancer risk. 

    Cancer-Specific Support and Resources

    Bay Area Cancer Connections (BACC) supports anyone affected by breast or ovarian cancer with personalized services that inform and empower.

    If you are new to BACC, please call our Helpline at (650) 326-6686 before joining one of our programs virtually or by phone.

    Breast Cancer Angels provides financial and emotional assistance for breast cancer patients and their families as they are going through breast cancer treatment.

    We currently assist in Orange County, South Bay, San Diego, Los Angeles, and some of the Inland Empire.

    Infinite Strength provides financial assistance, patient navigation services and emotional support to underserved single mothers living with Metastatic Breast Cancer, in order to help them have a better quality of life. And to provide hope to both mother and child that they do not have to go on this journey alone.

    International Myeloma Foundation (IMF) is dedicated to improving the quality of life of myeloma patients while working toward prevention and a cure by focusing on four key areas: research, education, support, and advocacy.

    Keep A Breast Foundation's mission is to reduce breast cancer risk and its impact globally through art, education, prevention, and action.

    The Keep A Breast Give Back Grant (GBG) directly supports women of color breast cancer patients and survivors based in the U.S.

    Knitted Knockers's mission is to connect volunteer knitters and crocheters with breast cancer survivors to offer free Knitted Knockers to any woman who wants them.

    Knitted Knockers are soft, comfortable, knit prosthetics for breast cancer survivors.

    Fuck Cancer's Personal Ink (P.ink) is dedicated to empowering women to reclaim their bodies after mastectomies. Through education and connection with experienced tattoo artists who can help, we are committed to ensuring that breast cancer never has to leave the last mark.

    Pink Fund provides financial assistance for up to 90-days for non-medical cost-of-living expenses for breast cancer patients in active treatment*, so they can focus on healing, raising their families, and returning to the workplace.

    *Active treatment is defined as the period after a positive diagnosis of breast cancer has been made (with a diagnostic biopsy), and during which therapies are being administered, including surgical procedures to remove the cancer (e.g. single or bi-lateral mastectomy, lumpectomy, axillary dissection, or sentinel node biopsy), chemotherapy or radiation.

    Project Purple is a non-profit organization empowering the fight against pancreatic cancer. Our unwavering commitment is fueled by the pursuit of raising awareness, driving crucial research, and providing aid for patients who are battling this disease.

    Send Me On Vacation (SMOV) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that provides breast cancer survivors in need the opportunity to initiate the process of emotional healing through a vacation experience. SMOV empowers survivors to reconnect with themselves on a rejuvenating vacation. Our vacation experiences have a profound effect on rebuilding the lives of breast cancer survivors after treatment. Our vacations are designed to strengthen the body, stimulate the mind and heal the spirit, creating a transformative journey into health and wellness.

    Community, Emotional, and Psychological Support and Resources

    A Fresh Chapter’s mission is to help people make sense of the complex emotions of cancer and give them the tools, support, and community to thrive – even in the midst of challenging circumstances.

    Cancer Support Community (CSC) uplifts and strengthens people impacted by cancer by providing support, fostering compassionate communities, and breaking down barriers to care.

    The Create to Heal Podcast is about life, leadership, and conversations from the heart. Each episode, we explore what creativity and healing mean to our invited guest. We invite all types of people to join us, from all industries and experiences.

    Epic Experience empowers adult cancer survivors and thrivers to live beyond cancer.

    Latinas Contra Cancer (LCC) believes the quality of life is vital for a longer, healthier and more productive life; and addresses some of the root issues of cancer-care disparity–prevention, intervention and support. This is made possible through education, awareness, access to quality care and research.

    The Women with Wings Foundation is a teaching non-profit and 501(c)(3) recognized organization that bridges the gap between the science and technology of medicine and patient care by offering healing arts programs, products and services that can easily be integrated into a provider’s existing protocol. Our products and services use all forms of art to inspire cancer patients, chronic pain patients, domestic violence survivors and their families to heal emotionally, spiritually and physically. Discovering one’s creative instincts brings Joy, Faith and Hope to the healing process.

    Vital Access Care Foundation / Vietnamese American Cancer Foundation (VACF) is dedicated to preventing cancer, improving patient quality of life, and saving lives through cancer education, research, advocacy, and services in the Vietnamese community.​

    We serve everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, social status, gender, age, religion, political affiliation, sexual orientation, or ability to pay. All of VACF programs and services are free of charge.

    Support and Resources for Family, Children, Caregivers, and Patients

    CancerCare® is the leading national organization dedicated to providing free, professional support services including resource navigation, counseling, support groups, educational workshops, publications and financial assistance. All CancerCare services are provided by master's-prepared oncology social workers and world-leading cancer experts.

    Center for Cancer Counseling mission is to help cancer patients and their family members achieve and maintain a quality of life that is productive, fulfilling, rewarding, successful and happy.

    Imerman Angels provides free, personalized one-on-one cancer support for cancer fighters, survivors, previvors, and caregivers.

    Kesem’s mission of supporting children through and beyond a parent’s cancer, and our vision of ensuring that every child impacted by a parent’s cancer is never alone, can only be realized through an ongoing, steadfast commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in every part of our organization.

    Lotsa Helping Hands is a central place to coordinate meals and help for friends & family.

    Nancy's List is a nonprofit organization supporting the many in our community who are living with cancer and those who love and care for them. We have a website of resources specific to different cancer diagnoses and populations, which includes information on support groups, healing and educational events, as well as information about financial assistance, employment rights, insurance resources, integrative medicine, care-giving, and more.

    Pet Porter Pals is pleased to donate pet care services including dog walking, transportation to vet/grooming appointments, and litter box cleanup to Living Beauty pet parents. We’ll help keep pets happy and healthy from head to tail while the Living Beauties focus on their recovery and treatments.

    Walk With Sally supports children impacted by cancer by providing care-centered one-to-one fellowships and additional programs and services to uplift the family unit and lessen the burden of cancer.

    Financial Assistance and Resources

    Southern California Edison is committed to helping our customers whenever possible. Working together with the United Way, we offer financial relief through the Energy Assistance Fund (EAF) to customers struggling to pay their electricity bills. The fund provides an opportunity for qualified households to receive up to a $200 payment (or up to $300 for an all-electric household) to be applied toward their SCE energy bill.

    Help Hope Live supports community-based fundraising for people with unmet medical expenses and related costs due to cell and organ transplants or catastrophic injuries and illnesses.

    The Keep A Breast Give Back Grant (GBG) directly supports women of color breast cancer patients and survivors based in the U.S.

    Health Care Access and Support

    Families USA, a leading national, non-partisan voice for health care consumers, is dedicated to achieving high-quality, affordable health care and improved health for all. Our work is driven by and centered around four pillars: value, equity, coverage and people’s experience. We view these focus areas — and the various issues unique to each area — as the cornerstones of America’s health care system.

    PhRMA’s Medicine Assistance Tool (MAT) is a search engine designed to help patients, caregivers and health care providers learn more about the resources available through the various biopharmaceutical industry programs. MAT is not its own patient assistance program, but rather a search engine for many of the patient assistance resources that the biopharmaceutical industry offers.

    With dignity & respect, MEND's mission is to meet the immediate needs of individuals and families and strengthen their capacity to thrive.

    MEND’s programs and services help meet the immediate crisis needs of people, and support them in developing connections, skills and resources to address and overcome long-term challenges that have kept them from thriving. Core services are provided by the Foodbank, Homeless Care Services and Here We Thrive.

    Deeper case managed services are offered through the Pathways to Wellness Program. We also provide work experience, life skills and financial literacy classes and support services.

    Patient assistance programs are run by pharmaceutical companies to provide free medications to people who cannot afford to buy their medicine. RxAssist offers a comprehensive database of these patient assistance programs, as well as practical tools, news, and articles so that health care professionals and patients can find the information they need. All in one place.

    PharmD's Ultimate Guide to Drug Discounts aims to provide comprehensive information on how different groups, including those with specific conditions, the elderly, and children, can access these discounts.

    Lodging and Housing Support

    Healthcare Hospitality Network, Inc. (HHN) is a nationwide professional member association with a mission to support homes that help and heal to be more effective in their service to patients and families. 

    The HHN community includes House members and Supporting Partner members. Our House members provide lodging and support services to patients and their caregivers while they are receiving medical treatment away from their home communities. Our Supporting Partners are members that support the Healthcare Hospitality Houses in their services to their guests.

    Support for Transportation Services

    The Air Care Alliance (ACA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public service organization representing a nationwide network of volunteer pilot groups that deliver impactful and inspiring service through aviation. ACA encourages volunteerism among pilots, helps patients access the free air transportation they need, and ensures that charitable aviation remains a viable resource to those who need it most.

    Air Charity Network is a charitable organization that provides access for people in need who are seeking free air transportation to specialized health care facilities or distant destinations due to family, community, or national crisis. Air Charity Network serves all 50 states and its volunteer pilots utilize their own aircraft, fuel and time to provide free air transportation to medical facilities for citizens who are financially distressed or otherwise unable to travel on public transportation. Air Charity Network members also coordinate flights to fly organ transplant candidates, people involved in clinical trials, chemotherapy or other repetitive treatment, victims of abuse seeking relocation, families receiving help from Ronald McDonald Houses, Shriners Hospitals and many other charities, disabled or sick children to special summer camp programs, and for many other humanitarian reasons.

    Angel Flight West delivers health and hope using donated flights to serve those with healthcare or other compelling human needs. In the air, Angel Flight West links volunteer pilots and commercial airlines with people whose non-emergency health needs require long-distance travel to access care. On the ground, volunteer drivers ferry passengers to and from their departure and destination airports.

    Mercy Medical Angels' mission is to remove the barrier to medical care with transportation on the ground and in the air.

    The American Cancer Society Road To Recovery® program eases your burden by giving free rides to cancer-related medical appointments. Our trained volunteer drivers are happy to pick you up, take you to your appointment, and drop you off at home. All for free and all to make your days a little easier. Not having a ride shouldn’t stand between you and lifesaving treatment. 

    Wellness and Self-Care Services

    EBeauty’s mission is to enhance and strengthen the education, charitable and community support network for women undergoing cancer treatments. EBeauty works to improve the quality of life of women undergoing chemotherapy treatments through the implementation of its Wig Exchange Program and Hospital Partnership Program. Our primary goal is to provide all women, regardless of economic status or geographic location, access to wigs.

    Come to Helen’s Room, a non-profit 501(c)(3) Positive Appearance and Resource Center for Cancer Patients.

    You can receive free, private and confidential consultations with specially trained volunteers in a warm and inviting environment to help you improve your appearance and lift your spirits. Helen’s Room offers services and products for low-income, uninsured women. All cancer patients are welcome.

    Lipstick Angels is a national, nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing oncology-sensitive, customized clean beauty, skincare, and wellness services to anyone affected by cancer. Our goal is to create a space for each person to feel pampered and to spark empowerment and joy through the essential practice of self-care. Our services are done at participating hospitals or clinics while they are receiving treatment, or virtually in the comfort of a patient’s home.

    Oncology Aesthetics & Wellness (OAW) provides Revolutionary and Targeted all-inclusive services and products pre and post chemotherapy. Our mission is to offer integrated cancer aesthetic care by simplifying products and services needed as our clients navigate the journey and face the aftermaths of how chemotherapy disturbs one’s beauty and self-esteem.
